A US dentist killed a lion named Cecil in Zimbabwe last week. Cecil was a well known tourist draw and was allegedly lured out of a sanctuary with bait strapped to the roof of a car. Zimbabwe has called for the US to extradite the dentist because, among other reasons, the paperwork required to legally kill a lion was not in order. Should the US extradite the dentist?

Thursday marks the 70th anniversary of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis--a story retold by Captain Quint in Jaws. The cruiser was torpedoed by the Japanese in the South Pacific and sank quickly. 1200 men were on the ship, 300 went down with it and of the 900 men in the water f, 317 survived the 5-day ordeal--the second worst loss of life in US Navy history (trailing the attack on Pearl Harbor).
