Q1. In March, Louisiana electrical equipment maker Fibrebond was bought by Eaton Corporation for $1.7b. Fibrebond CEO Graham Walker stipulated that 15% of the proceeds go to the 540 full time employees.
The average payout to each employee was $472k, with longer-tenured workers getting more.
Do you think all corporate buyouts should have a percentage mandated by law that goes to full-time salaried employees?

Q2. Gabapentin was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1993 for seizures, and in 2002 for nerve pain from shingles. However, today it is estimated that 95% of its prescriptions are for off-label use as a general pain reliever, boosting it to the 7th most prescribed drug in the US.
The FDA has yet to approve it for general pain relief due to a lack of studies showing its effectiveness in this capacity, and because of concerns about side effects.
Advocates of this off-label use say it's a much needed alternative to opioids, while opponents cite the sometimes debilitating side effects including burning sensation, dizziness and severe withdrawal symptoms if usage is stopped.
Generally speaking, do you think off-label prescriptions for drugs should be legal?

Q3. Earlier this month, the European Union fined X (formerly Twitter) $140m for the remaking of that platform's blue check mark system.
Prior to Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter, the blue checks were awarded to users the platform deemed important enough to merit identity verification, so that say if ten accounts had some variation on the name "Tom Hanks" the one with the blue check was the one users could be sure was the movie star.
After Musk took over, he made blue checks something any account could buy and IDs were no longer verified. In Musk's view this eliminated what he felt was two-tiered society (blue checks being the "haves," the rest the "have nots") while creating a new source of revenue.
The EU said Musk's blue checks, which don't require proof of ID and can be purchased by anyone, enable people to misrepresent their true identity, deceive users, and more effectively propagate disinformation.
Do you support the EU decision to fine X?
