Q1. Today's poll comes via user submission.

If your ability to make a living depended on knowing the true facts as they pertain to major news and current events, which THREE of these sources would you rely on most?

Please choose up to THREE, and consider only the news (not opinion) divisions of these properties when selecting your answers.

Walter Cronkite, the CBS Evening News anchor from 1962-1981, was frequently referred to as "the most trusted man in America."

The basis for the moniker was a 1972 poll conducted by CBS on the trustworthiness of political figures including Nixon, Agnew, Humphrey, McGovern, and incongruously Cronkite as the only non-politician. Cronkite edged out a generic "US Senator" option for the top spot and CBS used that result to promote Cronkite's standing as "the most trusted man in America" and eventually it took on legitimacy.

In 1970s polls conducted by Phillips-Sindlinger on the trustworthiness of newscasters, Cronkite was at times first, other times as low as fourth, and among political moderates he was rarely first, with John Chancellor usually the leader.
