Q1. Over the weekend, protests erupted in parts of LA in response to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in that city. ICE said it arrested 118 immigrants in the area last week, including five alleged gang members and others with criminal histories.
The LAPD and California Highway Patrol said protestors numbered about 1500, and what while many were peaceful, some blocked traffic, others used hammers to cut off pieces of concrete to throw at police, slashed tires, and burned autonomous vehicles. About thirty protestors were arrested as of this writing.
Which side do you sympathize with, if either?

Q2. President Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard troops to LA Sunday over the objection of CA Governor Gavin Newsom, who said "The federal government is taking over the California National Guard and deploying 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles — not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle."
Until Sunday, the last time a president sent Guard troops without the cooperation of a governor was 1965. In that instance, President Lyndon Johnson did so to defend civil rights marchers after Alabama Governor George Wallace chose not to.
Do you approve of President Trump sending in the National Guard over Newsom's objections?

Q3. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said active duty Marines in Southern CA are on "high alert," and would be sent to reinforce the National Guard if needed. Governor Newsom said he is opposed to the use of active troops in this situation.
The Insurrection Act must be invoked if troops are to be used in civilian law enforcement. The Act was last invoked in 1992, when the George HW Bush administration deployed Marines to help restore order after violent protests erupted in LA in the wake of the acquittal of four police officers in the beating of Rodney King. In that case, the troops were deployed at the request of CA's governor.
Would you approve if the Marines were deployed to the current protests?
