Q1. The Identity-protective Cognition Thesis (ICT) holds that when people are presented with facts that are inconsistent with their cultural identity, they undergo an unconscious process in which they use their intellect to justify rejecting those facts.
In other words, if someone is presented with unambiguous facts about, say, vaccines or gun control, the person will manipulate the facts to reflect their prior views and come to truly believe their own spin. Do you think ICT is prevalent among US adults?

Q2. Studies by Yale Law professors concluded that highly intelligent people (as measured by numeracy tests and other standardized tests) are more susceptible to ICT than others, the theory being such people are more effective at data manipulation so their manipulations become more believable to them.
Generally speaking, do you think standardized tests measure intelligence? And do you believe people that score highly on such tests are more susceptible to ICT? (Please choose two, one from each pair)

In the 2010s professors and others at Yale Law School formed The Cultural Cognition Project to study what they believe are the harmful impacts of ICT on society. Some of the professors are among those that conducted research that concluded high intelligence is correlated with ICT.
Yale Law School is definitively associated with high intellect as it is perhaps the most difficult school in the country to gain admission, the average LSAT average score among its students is in the 99th percentile, and three of its alumni currently sit on the Supreme Court.
Apropos of nothing, a good lawyer is someone who can take whatever the facts are, and wholeheartedly argue it supports their client's innocence.
